Visit from Stanford Hawaiian Studies

Tours & Visits

Kaneiolouma was blessed by a visit of about two dozen students from Stanford University. They have been traveling Hawaii for the past month as part of their Stanford University's Hawai`i program in the School of Earth Sciences, and were introduced to the Heiau by Rev. Dr. Alan Akana, Kahu (Pastor) of the Koloa Union Church.

Rupert Rowe, and Billy Kaohelauli'i, both Po'o of the Kaneiolouma Heiau greeted the students on the viewing platform and gave them a walking tour of the new interperetive signs. The tour included a lively question and answer session, and concluded with an Oli Mahalo, and then a tradional honi with the Po'o and students.

Hui Malama O Kaneiolouma sincerely thanks the Stanford students for their visit and aloha.
